Then what’s PERT pipe?
The high performance PE-RT pipe is manufactured by an addition of chemicals to the polyethylene raw material. This increases the strength of the pipe which allows PE-RT pipes to be successfully used for underfloor heating systems. This pipe is highly flexible, easy to use and has very good creep strength. In addition, the pipes have a high stability against stress corrosion.
What’s the application and its pipe type?
PERT is mainly used as floor heating pipe because of its better features. In the market, there are mainly three different type of PERT pipes.
a. Single layer PERT pipe
b. Three or five layer PERT/EVOH pipe
EVOH is co-extruded in the middle or outer layer to get better oxygen barrier function to protect the hydronic heating system components from corrosion.
c. Five layer PERT-Al-PERT composite pipe
Aluminum is co-extruded in the middle to work as oxygen barrier function.
Pipe Structure is PERT-Adhesive-Aluminum-Adhesive-PERT.
